Thank Heavens the remodel is finished. We're slowly getting to the last bits-- shelves and artwork and things like that-- but the house is mostly back in order, which does my mental health a heap of good. Right about the time I started murmuring about not being able to handle the chaos anymore, things started shaping up.
We decided to install ship lap on the new ceilings and walls, with the rest of the world, apparently. I didn't realize that shiplap was such a hot thing until afterward, but by then there was no going back. Would you like to hear a sweaty story about spot priming, priming, and painting one hundred sixty-three, eight-inch, twelve-foot boards? A hundred thank you's to my parents for their help with that hellish job.
Perhaps I will share more photos later, and perhaps I won't, but for now I'm completely happy with how everything turned out, imperfections and all...and extremely glad that it's done!
